Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry covers the range of treatments that change how a smile looks rather than how it functions — whitening, bonding, veneers, and crowns. Most of it can be done conservatively, changing as little of the natural tooth as possible.
Overview
- Whitening and bonding are reversible-adjacent — they don’t require removing healthy tooth structure.
- Same-day crowns are possible in-house with Cerec, so a permanent restoration doesn’t always mean a second visit.
- Every plan starts with a consultation, not a sales pitch — you’ll know the options before committing to any of them.
What to expect
Consultation
We look at what’s bothering you about your smile and walk through which of the four main options — whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns — actually fits, rather than defaulting to the most expensive one.
Treatment
Whitening and bonding are often finished in a single visit. Veneers and crowns typically take two visits: one to prepare and take an impression or digital scan, one to place the final restoration.
Follow-up
Some sensitivity in the first few days is normal. Regular hygiene visits keep the result looking the way it did the day it was placed.
Frequently asked
With normal care it lasts a few years. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco will shorten that — if it can stain a white shirt, it will stain a smile.
Bonding reshapes a tooth with a tooth-colored resin, finished the same day. Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of the tooth, usually over two visits, and hold their color longer.
Yes — modern crowns, especially the compressed porcelain used with our Cerec system, are shade-matched to your surrounding teeth and shaped from a 3D scan of your own bite.
Purely cosmetic treatment usually isn’t, though some procedures overlap with restorative work that is. We’ll check your specific plan before you commit to anything.
